Fraser Fir

We do not grow the Fraser Fir on our farm. We buy fresh cut trees from North Carolina. This tree has dark blue-green needles, pleasing fragrance and excellent needle retention.

When you visit our farm at Christmas you will be able to select from 8 varieties of Christmas Trees of which we grow 7 of these varieties.

Fraser Fir are brought in from North Carolina to supplement our selection.  We cut a couple inches off of the trunks of these trees and place them in water inside our shed out of the sun and wind until we are ready to display them.

The farm has approximately 16,000 trees growing on 30 acres.   Each year we plant from 1,500 to 2,500 trees depending on the survival and the sales of the previous year.  It takes anywhere from 7 to 9 years to grow a 6 ft tree that is ready for market.

Some of the trees are watered with a drip system and others with an overhead sprinkler system.  This enables us to provide fresh trees even during dry years.  Each tree is trimmed by hand each year after about the 3rd or 4th year.
